Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness leading to External Hydraulic Valve 1 for corroded, loose, or damaged pins

  2. Verify the spool position sensor value using a compatible diagnostic tool to check for erratic readings

  3. Ensure there is CAN bus communication between the Dash and the Valve Module

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect Power

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent short circuits.

  2. Access the Valve Block

Locate the external hydraulic valve block at the rear of the tractor. Identify Valve 1 (usually the primary remote).

  3. Clean and Re-seat Connectors

Disconnect the electrical plug to Valve 1. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, check for pushed-back pins, and securely reconnect.

  4. Test/Replace Sensor

If the diagnostic tool shows an erratic spool position sensor value, replace the sensor cap/module on the valve.

  5. Replace the Valve

If the wiring is intact and the sensor is functioning but the code persists, the internal solenoids or spool mechanism of External Hydraulic Valve 1 have failed and the valve assembly must be replaced.

  6. Clear Codes

Reconnect the battery and use a Massey Ferguson-compatible diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs and verify the repair.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • External Hydraulic Valve 1 Assembly / Electronic Spool Valve

Must specify the exact Tier 4 electronic remote valve assembly, as they are CAN-bus controlled and differ significantly from older mechanical valves.

  • Single Spool Valve

    1026699M92

    For older/manual conversions

  • Hydraulic Diverter Valve

    357018A

    For older/manual conversions
