Check the cause
Code Verification: Connect a compatible diagnostic tool or interface device to the tractor to retrieve the active DTCs and confirm if 0A.12.24 is active or stored as a historical code.
Wiring and Connector Inspection: Check the physical wiring harness and the electrical connector at External Hydraulic Valve 1. Look for damaged wires, corrosion, or loose pins, which are common causes of connection problems on hydraulic valves.
Sensor Data Monitoring: Use the diagnostic tool to monitor the 'Spool Position Sensor Value' for Valve 1. Check if the value changes smoothly when the valve is commanded or if it reads out of range/stuck.
Module Communication Check: Verify that there is proper communication between the Dash and the Mid Mount Valve Module, as CAN bus communication drops can trigger valve errors.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Turn off the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the rear remotes before beginning work.
Clean the Area
Thoroughly clean the area around External Hydraulic Valve 1 at the rear valve stack to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.
Electrical Repair
If the diagnostic checks revealed a damaged connector or wiring harness, repair or replace the pigtail/connector. Apply dielectric grease to prevent future moisture intrusion.
Component Replacement
If the spool position sensor or the valve solenoid is internally shorted/failed, carefully unbolt the actuator/sensor housing from the top/rear of the spool valve slice.
Valve Slice Replacement (If necessary)
If the mechanical spool is scored or the internal electronics of the slice cannot be serviced separately, remove the tie rods holding the hydraulic valve stack together and replace the entire Valve 1 slice.
Reassembly and Calibration
Reassemble the valve stack, replace any disturbed O-rings between the slices, and torque the tie rods to OEM specifications.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the diagnostic tool, clear the 0A.12.24 fault code, and test the operation of the remote valve to ensure the issue is resolved.
