Massey Ferguson A.13.18 – Mid Mount Valve Module: External Hydraulic Valve 1 Issue

Triggered by the tractor's onboard diagnostic system when it detects a fault in the operation, electrical connection, or position sensing of the first external hydraulic remote valve.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at External Hydraulic Valve 1 for loose or corroded connections

   Verify the spool position sensor values using a compatible diagnostic tool to check for out-of-range readings

   Ensure there is proper communication between the Dash and the Mid Mount Valve Module

4. 4

   Attempt to recalibrate the hydraulic valves via the tractor's diagnostic interface

   Clear and Retest

   Connect a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool, clear the DTCs, and cycle the hydraulic remote to see if the code returns.

   Wiring Repair

   If the code returns immediately, disconnect the harness at External Hydraulic Valve 1. Clean the contacts and check for voltage/continuity back to the Mid Mount Valve Module. Repair any damaged wiring.

   Sensor Replacement

   If the wiring is intact but the spool position sensor value is erratic or out of range, replace the spool position sensor on Valve 1.

   Valve Replacement

   If the sensor is integrated or the valve spool is mechanically binding/failed, remove the hydraulic pressure from the system and replace the External Hydraulic Valve 1 assembly.

   Recalibration

   After replacing the sensor or the valve, use the diagnostic tool to perform a hydraulic valve calibration procedure to marry the new component to the module.
