Massey Ferguson A.13.19 – Hydraulic control system / valve controller: External Hydraulic Valve 1 Issue

Malfunction in the first external hydraulic remote valve (electric spool slice or spool valve). The underlying condition is typically a connection problem on the hydraulic valve, a failure of the solenoid/pilot pressure control, or an issue with the spool position sensor value.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to External Valve 1 for corrosion, backed-out pins, or wire chafing.

   Use a compatible diagnostic tool to monitor the spool position sensor value.

   Check the operation of the electrical circuits and the solenoid valves on the hydraulic block.

   Preparation

   Ensure the tractor is turned off, safely supported, and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before beginning work.

   Removal

   Disconnect the electrical harness from External Hydraulic Valve 1 (the electric spool slice). Unbolt the spool slice from the hydraulic valve stack/block.

   Installation

   Fit the new electric spool slice (ensure O-rings/seals are properly seated and lubricated) and torque the mounting bolts to specification. Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Programming

   A replacement electric spool slice needs to be programmed to the tractor using a dealer diagnostic tool. The system will not recognize the new valve's position sensor without this calibration.

   Testing

   Top up the transmission/hydraulic oil level if any was lost. Run the tractor and check the hydraulic circuit by carrying out relevant pressure and flow tests. Check the tightness of the hydraulic unions and ensure there are no leaks.
