Check the cause
Verify the hydraulic fluid (UTTO) level and inspect for dark, burnt, or milky appearance indicating contamination.
Check for a partially blocked hydraulic filter restricting flow.
Inspect the external control valve, hoses, and quick couplers for external leaks or damaged seals.
Perform a pressure test at the remote cylinder connections to isolate the issue to Valve 1 or a broader pump/relief valve issue.
Inspect the wiring harness and solenoid connector at External Hydraulic Valve 1 for corrosion, loose pins, or damaged wires.
Repair steps
Address Fluid/Filter Issues
If the fluid is contaminated or degraded, flush the system and replace the hydraulic fluid and filters.
Fix External Leaks
If leaks are found at the quick couplers or valve fittings, replace the affected O-rings and seals immediately to restore system pressure.
Valve Service/Replacement
If the fluid is clean, electrical connections are sound, and pressure testing isolates the fault to the valve itself, the External Hydraulic Valve 1 assembly (often a complex electro-hydraulic spool valve) must be removed and either rebuilt or replaced.
Clear DTCs
Once the mechanical or electrical repair is complete, use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.13.1F code from the system memory.
Parts you might need
(4)External Hydraulic Valve 1 (Auxiliary Remote Spool Valve)
Many of these electronic auxiliary valves on AGCO/Massey Ferguson machines are manufactured by Bosch Rexroth, such as the SB23 series, which are known to require specialized rebuilds or replacement.
Hydraulic Fluid
OEM UTTO (Universal Tractor Transmission Oil) fluid (e.g., 10W40 equivalent).
Hydraulic Filter
Always use OEM or high-quality filters to prevent system contamination.
Quick Coupler Seals / O-Rings
Required if the fault is traced to pressure loss at the remote connections.
