Massey Ferguson A.1X.29 – EHR or Mid Mount Valve Module: External Hydraulic Valve 1 Issue

   Check the wiring harness and the 4-pin electrical connector at External Hydraulic Valve 1 for corrosion, moisture, or damaged pins

   Use a diagnostic tool to monitor the live value of the spool position sensor for erratic or out-of-range values

   Verify CAN communication between the tractor's dash/main ECU and the valve module

   Isolate the Valve

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 1, which is usually the first slice in the rear hydraulic remote stack.

   Clean and Re-seat Connectors

   Disconnect the electrical harness to the spool valve, clean the contacts with electronic cleaner, and re-seat the connector. Clear the DTCs to see if the code returns.

   Replace Faulty Components

   If the wiring is intact but the sensor or coil fails testing, replace the specific spool position sensor or solenoid coil.

   Replace the Spool Slice

   If the internal electronic slice is unrepairable or the valve block is mechanically damaged, remove the retaining bolts from the valve stack and replace the entire Electric Spool Slice.

   Program and Calibrate

   If a complete new electric spool slice is installed, program and calibrate it to the tractor using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Clear the 0A.1X.29 fault code from the system and test the hydraulic remote for proper operation.
