Massey Ferguson A.20.19 – Mid Mount Valve Module: External Hydraulic Valve 2 Issue

Fault within the secondary external hydraulic spool valve circuit. Triggered by a connection problem on the hydraulic valve, an issue with the spool position sensor value, or a loss of communication between the Dash and the Mid Mount Valve Module.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to External Hydraulic Valve 2 for corrosion, damage, or loose pins, as the system explicitly monitors for connection problems.

   Test the spool position sensor for Valve 2 to ensure it is returning the correct voltage/value to the module.

   Verify that there is active CAN Bus communication between the Dash and the Mid Mount Valve Module.

   Access the Valve Block

   Locate the external hydraulic valve block (typically at the rear or mid-mount depending on the loader configuration).

   Inspect and Clean Connectors

   Disconnect the electrical plug for Valve 2. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and check for pushed-back pins. Reconnect and clear the code to see if it returns.

   Test/Replace the Position Sensor

   If the wiring is intact but the code persists, the spool position sensor is likely failing to report its value. Replace the sensor if it tests out of specification.

   Replace the Spool Valve/Coupling

   If the valve itself is mechanically binding or the internal solenoids have failed, the external hydraulic valve assembly or the specific metering valve will need to be replaced.

   Clear Codes

   Use a Massey Ferguson-compatible diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs and cycle the hydraulic levers to ensure the module registers the new valve/sensor.
