Massey Ferguson A.21.28: External Hydraulic Valve 2 Issue

Malfunction, connection problem, or pressure failure associated with the tractor's auxiliary/remote hydraulic spool valve number 2.

   Check hydraulic fluid (UTTO) level and condition. Look for dark, burnt-smelling, or milky fluid indicating water contamination.

   Inspect the hydraulic filter to ensure it is not blocked or heavily contaminated.

   Inspect external control valves, quick couplers, and hoses for visible leaks.

   Check the wiring harness and electrical connectors going to External Valve 2 for damage or poor connections.

   Perform a pressure test using a hydraulic gauge to determine if the issue is isolated to the valve itself or a broader pump/restriction issue.

   Fluid & Filter Service

   Drain the old hydraulic fluid, flush the system if water/metal is present, and install a new OEM hydraulic filter. Refill with clean UTTO fluid.

   Valve Unsticking

   If the valve is mechanically stuck, release it by manually moving the pump control valve lever back and forth, or by repeatedly picking up and dropping the lift arms.

   Valve Cleaning/Replacement

   Remove the auxiliary valve assembly and clean the valve chamber. Rebuild or replace the valve if internal seals or electronic components are damaged.

   Clear Codes

   Use a compatible diagnostic tool or interface device to clear the A.21.28 / 0A.2X.28 code from the tractor's system.
