Massey Ferguson A.22.13 – Hydraulic control module: External Hydraulic Valve 2 Issue

A malfunction in the tractor's second external hydraulic spool valve (remote valve). The underlying condition is typically an electrical connection problem on the hydraulic valve, an issue with the spool position sensor value, or a communication failure with the valve module.

   Retrieve sub-codes using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to pinpoint the exact nature of the fault

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to External Hydraulic Valve 2 for frays, corrosion, or loose connectors

   Test the spool position sensor value to ensure it is reading correctly and communicating with the Mid Mount Valve Module

   Check for any communication loss between the dash display and the valve module

   Isolate the Valve

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 2 (usually mounted directly onto the lift cover or rear remote stack).

   Address Electrical Faults

   If the diagnostic tool indicates a connection issue, clean the electrical contacts on the valve's solenoid and position sensor. Reconnect and secure the harness.

   Replace the Sensor/Switch

   If the spool position sensor or electric spool valve control switch is faulty, remove the retaining bolts, extract the old sensor, and install the replacement.

   Rebuild or Replace the Valve

   If the valve block has internal mechanical damage or is leaking, remove the valve assembly. You can either rebuild it using an OEM hydraulic repair kit or replace the entire directional control valve.

   Clear Codes

   After the repair is complete, use the diagnostic interface device to clear the DTCs from the tractor's memory and test the hydraulic remote to ensure optimal performance.
