Issue description
Malfunction associated with the second auxiliary hydraulic remote valve (spool valve 2). The underlying condition is typically an electrical connection problem, a failure of the spool valve position sensor, or a discrepancy where the spool's actual position does not match the commanded position from the Spool Valve Management System (SMS).

Check the cause
Visual & Harness Inspection: Check the wiring harness and electrical connector at External Hydraulic Valve 2 (located on the rear remote stack) for corrosion, backed-out pins, or connection problems.
Sensor Value Verification: Use a compatible diagnostic tool to monitor the spool position sensor value. The Spool Valve Management System (SMS) expects the sensor value to match the calibration value within 3 seconds of a command; if it does not, the system flags an error.
Mechanical Binding Check: Ensure the spool valve cable (if mechanically linked to a joystick) is not jammed or stalled.
Voltage Test: Verify the 8.5V or 5V reference supply voltage reaching the spool valve position sensor from the control module.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.
Access the Valve Block
Locate External Hydraulic Valve 2 on the rear hydraulic remote stack.
Inspect and Clean
Disconnect the electrical connector to the valve's solenoid and position sensor. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. If the connector is damaged, replace the pigtail/connector.
Component Replacement
If the wiring is intact but the sensor values remain out of range, remove the faulty spool valve position sensor. On many electrohydraulic setups, if the sensor is integrated and non-serviceable, the specific electrohydraulic spool valve slice (Valve 2) must be replaced.
Reassembly
Install the new sensor or valve slice and reconnect the wiring harness.
Calibration
Whenever work is carried out on a hydraulic position sensor, the system must be recalibrated. Access the Datatronic CCD calibration screen (or use a dealer diagnostic tool) to calibrate the spool valve limits so the ECU learns the new sensor values.
