Massey Ferguson A.22.1B – Dash / Mid Mount Valve Module: External Hydraulic Valve 2 Issue

Malfunction in the second external hydraulic remote/spool valve circuit. The underlying condition is typically an electrical connection problem on the hydraulic valve, an issue with the spool position sensor value, or a communication failure.

   Inspect Connections: Check for a connection problem on External Hydraulic Valve 2. Look for loose, corroded, or damaged wiring harness connectors at the valve.

   Sensor Verification: Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to check the Spool Position Sensor value for Valve 2 to see if it is reading out of range.

   Module Communication: Verify the CAN bus communication wiring between the Dash display and the Mid Mount Valve Module.

   Locate valve

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 2 at the rear remote stack or mid-mount block.

   Clean contacts

   Disconnect the electrical harness to the valve's spool position sensor and solenoids. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease.

   Inspect wiring

   Inspect the wiring harness leading back to the Mid Mount Valve Module for chafing or breaks; repair any damaged wires.

   Replace sensor or slice

   If the wiring is intact but the spool position sensor value remains erratic or out of range, the sensor or the electric spool slice itself must be replaced.

   Clear DTCs

   After replacing the faulty component, use a compatible diagnostic interface device to clear the DTCs from the onboard diagnostic system. Note that some electric spool slices require programming to the tractor upon installation.
