Issue description
Indicates a fault within the circuit or mechanical operation of the second external hydraulic remote (spool) valve. Typically triggered by a connection problem on the hydraulic valve, a spool position sensor value issue, or a physical restriction preventing the valve from reaching its commanded position.

Check the cause
Check fluid and filters: Verify the hydraulic oil level and condition. Dirty oil or a blocked hydraulic/transmission filter can restrict flow and cause valve response issues.
Inspect electrical connections: Check the wiring harness and electrical connectors leading to External Hydraulic Valve 2 for corrosion, open circuits, or shorts.
Check for mechanical binding: Inspect the spool valve detents and mechanical linkages. Rust in the detents is a common issue that prevents the valve from moving or returning to neutral.
Test the spool position sensor: Use a diagnostic tool to read the live values of the spool position sensor to verify if it is registering movement correctly.
Repair steps
Relieve Hydraulic Pressure
Ensure the tractor is turned off, the implement is lowered to the ground, and all hydraulic pressure is relieved from the system before working on the valves.
Clean the Valve Area
Thoroughly clean the exterior of the hydraulic valve block to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.
Address Wiring/Sensors
If the diagnostic tool points to a sensor or connection issue, clean the electrical contacts with contact cleaner. If the wiring harness is damaged, repair or replace the affected pigtail.
Free Up Detents (If Mechanically Seized)
If the valve is physically stuck, remove the detent cover on the spool valve. Clean out any rust, lubricate the detent mechanism, and replace the seals.
Replace the Valve Assembly (If Internal Failure)
If the valve spool is heavily scored, the internal solenoids have failed, or the position sensor is integrated and faulty, remove the hydraulic lines and mounting bolts for Valve 2. Install the new valve assembly.
Calibrate the Hydraulics
After replacing the valve or sensor, connect a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs and perform a hydraulic valve calibration so the ECU can relearn the neutral, extend, and retract positions.
