Massey Ferguson A.23.23 – EXT Lite transmission controller / Datatronic system: External Hydraulic Valve 2 Issue

Malfunction, connection problem, or position sensor error on the second external remote hydraulic spool valve. Remote hydraulics may become slow, weak, or completely dead, preventing the proper operation of implements.

   Check the hydraulic oil filter and transmission filter for blockages or contaminated oil

   Inspect the mechanical detents on the spool valve for rust or binding

   Ensure there are no blocked couplers or damaged hoses restricting hydraulic pressure

   Inspect the wiring harness and the connection to the spool valve lever position sensor for faults

   Fluid Service

   If the hydraulic oil is contaminated or filters are blocked, drain the hydraulic fluid and replace the hydraulic/transmission filters.

   Access the Valve Block

   Locate the External Hydraulic Valve 2 group at the rear of the tractor.

   Service the Detents

   Inspect the spool valve detents for rust. Clean and lubricate the detent mechanisms to ensure smooth operation. If the internal seals or components are worn, install an OEM spool valve repair kit.

   Address Sensor/Wiring Issues

   Disconnect the spool valve position sensor (Component X589). Clean the electrical contacts and check for continuity. Replace the sensor if it is providing faulty position values.

   Reassembly and Clearing Codes

   Reassemble the valve components, top up the hydraulic fluid, and use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs from the system. Test the remote hydraulics with an implement to verify pressure and flow.
