Massey Ferguson A.23.24 – onboard diagnostic system: External Hydraulic Valve 2 Issue

A malfunction, connection problem, or sensor fault associated with the second external hydraulic remote valve (spool valve). The system has detected an irregularity, which could be related to the spool position sensor value, the solenoid coil, or the electrical connection to the valve.

   Use a compatible diagnostic tool to confirm code 0A.23.24 and check for any accompanying codes (such as 0A.41.FF, which indicates a direct connection problem on a hydraulic valve).

   Visually inspect the wiring harness and electrical connectors leading to External Hydraulic Valve 2 for corrosion, loose pins, or physical damage.

   Use the diagnostic interface to monitor the spool position sensor value for Valve 2 to see if it is reading out of range or stuck.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before servicing the valves.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the area around the rear hydraulic remote valve block to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

   Electrical Testing

   Disconnect the electrical harness at External Hydraulic Valve 2. Test the solenoid coil and the spool position sensor for proper resistance and voltage supply.

   Repair/Replace

   If the wiring is damaged, repair the harness or replace the connector. If the spool position sensor or solenoid is faulty, replace the electronic slice/sensor assembly. If the valve itself is mechanically binding or leaking internally, rebuild it using an OEM repair kit or replace the entire spool valve assembly.

   Reassembly and Calibration

   Reconnect all electrical and hydraulic lines. Some electronic spool valves (electric slices) require programming or calibration to the tractor's system after replacement.

   Clear Codes

   Use the diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs and test the hydraulic remote to ensure the issue is resolved.
