Massey Ferguson A.2X.13 – Mid Mount Valve Module or Autotronic ECU: External Hydraulic Valve 2 Issue

Malfunction associated with the second external hydraulic spool valve (SCV 2). The underlying condition is typically an electrical connection problem on the hydraulic valve, an issue with the spool position sensor value, or a solenoid fault (such as an open circuit or short to ground). When this fault is detected, the system will often block all hydraulic valves as a safety precaution.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to External Hydraulic Valve 2 for rub points, open circuits, or shorts to ground

   Check the coil resistance and ground integrity on the valve's solenoid connector

   Verify the spool position sensor value using a diagnostic tool to see if the sensor is reading out of range or has failed

   Verify that there is communication between the dash and the Mid Mount Valve Module

   Ensure the valve is not physically stuck and that hydraulic pressure is within normal operating limits

   Inspect and Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks reveal a damaged spool valve cable or poor connector pin fitment, repair the wiring or replace the spool valve cable.

   Replace Faulty Components

   If the wiring is intact but the solenoid or position sensor has failed, you will need to replace the specific solenoid coil or the entire electric spool slice (valve block).

   Clear the Code

   Once the physical repair is made, you must delete the error code from the control unit dashboard.

   Unlock the Valves

   Because the control unit blocks all valves when a critical hydraulic error is thrown, you must manually unlock the valves via the dashboard or diagnostic interface after clearing the code to restore functionality.
