Massey Ferguson A.2X.1E – Dash display / Mid Mount Valve Module: External Hydraulic Valve 2 Issue
Issue description
Indicates a malfunction in the circuit or mechanical operation of the second auxiliary remote hydraulic spool valve. This is typically triggered by an electrical connection problem to the valve, an out-of-range spool position sensor value, or mechanical sticking/jamming of the valve spool that prevents it from directing hydraulic fluid properly.

Check the cause
Check the UTTO fluid level and condition for a milky appearance or burnt smell, and inspect for a blocked hydraulic/transmission filter.
Inspect External Valve 2 (Bosch Rexroth SB23) for external fluid leaks.
Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connectors plugging into Valve 2 for corrosion, broken wires, or loose pins.
Use a diagnostic tool to read the live data for the Valve 2 spool position sensor to see if it is registering movement.
Hook a hydraulic pressure gauge to the rear remote couplers to verify if the issue is isolated to Valve 2 or if there is a system-wide low-pressure issue.
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Turn off the tractor and cycle the hydraulic levers/joysticks to relieve all residual pressure in the system.
Drain/Flush
If the hydraulic fluid is degraded, drain the fluid and replace the hydraulic filter before installing new valve components.
Disconnect Valve 2
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the Valve 2 segment. Disconnect and cap the hydraulic lines to prevent dirt from entering the system.
Remove the Valve Segment
Unbolt the tie-rods holding the hydraulic valve block together and carefully slide out the affected Valve 2 segment (Bosch SB23).
Reseal / Rebuild
Use a Spool Valve Replacement/Reseal Kit. Remove the snap rings at the ends of the spool, slide the spool out, and replace all internal O-rings and seals. Extreme care must be taken not to score the spool or introduce dirt.
Reassembly
Lubricate the new seals with clean hydraulic fluid, reinsert the spool, and reassemble the valve block. Torque the block tie-rods to the manufacturer's specifications.
Bleed and Test
Reconnect all lines and electrical harnesses. Refill the tractor with OEM-spec UTTO fluid. Start the engine and cycle Valve 2 multiple times to bleed air from the system. Clear the 0A.2X.1E code with a diagnostic tool.
Parts you might need
(4)Spool Valve Replacement / Reseal Kit
AT20010Designed specifically for servicing Bosch SB23 remote hydraulic valves on CCLS/TFLS tractors to avoid full valve replacement.
Auxiliary Hydraulic Valve Assembly
Bosch Rexroth SB23OEM manufacturer. Complete replacement is very expensive; rebuilding is highly recommended.
Hydraulic Fluid
OEM-approved UTTO (Universal Tractor Transmission Oil, e.g., 10W40 or equivalent M1141/M1135 spec).
Hydraulic Filter
Specific OEM part number depends heavily on the exact tractor model/year.
