Massey Ferguson A.2X.24 – Mid Mount Valve Module: External Hydraulic Valve 2 Issue

Malfunction in the second external hydraulic remote/spool valve circuit. Typically stems from a connection problem or open/short circuit on the hydraulic valve, an issue with the spool position sensor value, or a loss of communication between the dash/main controller and the valve module.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to External Hydraulic Valve 2 for any physical damage, chafing, or loose pins

   Verify the voltage and resistance of the spool position sensor on Valve 2 to ensure it is sending the correct positional data to the module

   Check CAN/Communication lines to ensure there is proper communication between the dash/main controller and the valve module

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before servicing the valves.

   Access the Valve Block

   Locate the external hydraulic valve stack (usually at the rear of the tractor or mid-mount depending on the loader configuration). Identify Valve 2.

   Clean and Re-seat Connectors

   Disconnect the electrical connector to Valve 2's actuator/sensor. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and securely reconnect it.

   Replace Faulty Components

   If the wiring is intact but the spool position sensor or the valve actuator has failed testing, unbolt the faulty electronic spool valve or sensor from the hydraulic block and install the replacement part.

   Clear Codes

   Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool or interface device to clear the 0A.2X.24 DTC from the system.

   Function Test

   Power the tractor on, engage the hydraulic system, and actuate Valve 2 to ensure smooth operation and verify that the code does not return.
