Massey Ferguson A.30.21 – Control unit dashboard / Instrument Panel: External Hydraulic Valve 3 Issue

Issue description

Indicates a potential fault, blockage, or electrical issue within the third external hydraulic remote/spool valve circuit.

Perform a system reset by stopping the tractor and restarting the engine to see if the valve unlocks from a transient error.
Verify the hydraulic fluid level and condition, and check for suction leaks, clogged hydraulic filters, or pump drive issues.
Inspect the valve position sensor line and wiring harness for electrical shorts or open circuits.
Attempt to delete the error code from the dashboard using a diagnostic tool; if it returns immediately, the valve is hard-faulted and requires mechanical intervention.

Relieve hydraulic pressure
Ensure the tractor is turned off and relieve all hydraulic system pressure before servicing.
Locate valve
Locate External Hydraulic Valve 3 on the rear hydraulic block.
Disconnect electrical harness
Disconnect the electrical harness connected to the valve's solenoid/position sensor.
Unbolt valve
Unbolt the external hydraulic valve from the lift cover or valve stack.
Inspect valve
Inspect the valve for physical blockages. If the valve does not return to the neutral position mechanically, the spool may be scored or damaged.
Replace valve or solenoid
Replace the faulty valve or solenoid.
Replace O-rings
Whenever remounting the valve, always replace the mounting O-rings to prevent pressure leaks.
Reinstall and refill
Reinstall the valve, reconnect the hoses and electrical connectors, and top off the hydraulic fluid.
Clear code and test
Clear the error code from the dashboard and test the remote.
