A.30.26

Massey Ferguson A.30.26 – Onboard Diagnostic System / Hydraulic Control Module: External Hydraulic Valve 3 Issue

Issue description

The tractor's onboard diagnostic system has detected a malfunction, connection problem, or circuit failure specifically related to the 3rd external hydraulic remote valve (spool valve).

Check the cause

  1. Locate the 3rd external hydraulic valve on the rear remote valve block and inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector for corrosion, dirt ingress, or physical damage.

  2. Use a multimeter to check for proper voltage reaching the solenoid when the valve is commanded to actuate, and check the solenoid coil for continuity/resistance to ensure it hasn't shorted or opened.

  3. Ensure the valve spool is not mechanically binding due to contamination in the hydraulic fluid.

Repair steps

  1. Verify the Code

Connect a compatible diagnostic tool to the tractor's diagnostic port to confirm the presence of code 0A.30.26.

  2. Relieve Pressure

Turn off the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system by cycling the hydraulic controls before working on the valve block.

  3. Clean the Area

Thoroughly clean the area around External Hydraulic Valve 3 to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.

  4. Disconnect Wiring

Unplug the electrical connector from the Valve 3 solenoid. If the connector is damaged or heavily corroded, splice in a replacement pigtail connector.

  5. Replace the Solenoid/Valve

If the solenoid coil failed the continuity test, remove the retaining nut and slide the old solenoid off the valve cartridge. Install the new solenoid. If the valve itself is internally damaged or binding, unbolt the valve section from the remote block and install a replacement valve assembly.

  6. Reassemble and Test

Reconnect the wiring harness. Start the tractor, allow hydraulic pressure to build, and check for leaks.

  7. Clear Codes

Use the diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.30.26 fault code from the system memory and actuate the 3rd remote to ensure proper operation.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • External Hydraulic Valve Assembly (Remote Valve 3) / Hydraulic Valve Solenoid Coil

Exact OEM part number varies heavily by specific tractor chassis and hydraulic pump configuration. Provide dealer with specific serial number.
