Check the cause

  1. Check the UTTO hydraulic fluid level and condition (look for dark, burnt-smelling, or milky fluid indicating water contamination)

  2. Inspect the hydraulic filter to ensure it has been changed within the last 300–500 hours, as 70% contamination restricts flow

  3. Inspect the external control valve block, O-rings, and 1/2" ISO 5675 quick couplers for visible leaks

  4. Perform a pressure and flow test using a diagnostic flowmeter and pressure gauge (e.g., AGCO MF 3001 pressure gauge kit and MF 3016 flowmeter kit) connected to the diagnostic coupler to verify if the issue is a weak pump or isolated to Valve 3

  5. Inspect the wiring harness and solenoid connector specifically at External Valve 3 for corrosion, damage, or loose pins

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure

Lower all implements to the ground and turn off the engine. Cycle the hydraulic levers/controls to relieve any residual pressure in the system.

  2. Drain/Flush Fluid (If Contaminated)

Drain the hydraulic fluid and replace the hydraulic filter. Never use non-original filters, as low-quality substitutes increase the risk of contamination entry by 35%.

  3. Disconnect Valve 3

Locate the external hydraulic valve stack at the rear of the tractor. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses and the electrical solenoid connector for Valve 3.

  4. Remove the Valve

Unbolt the Valve 3 section from the hydraulic control valve block/lift cover.

  5. Install Replacement

Mount the new or rebuilt external hydraulic remote valve. Replace any mating O-rings between the valve sections to prevent internal pressure loss.

  6. Reassemble and Bleed

Reconnect the hoses and electrical connections. Refill the system with OEM-approved UTTO fluid. Operate the tractor and cycle the remote valve to bleed air from the system, as aeration can cause spontaneous cylinder action and vibrations.

  7. Clear Codes

Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.30.2A code from the system.
