Massey Ferguson A.32.11 – Tractor Control Unit (TCU) or ECU Auto 3 Control Box: External Hydraulic Valve 3 Issue
Issue description
Indicates an electrical or functional fault (such as a connection problem, voltage irregularity, or solenoid failure) specifically isolated to the third rear external hydraulic remote valve.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the rear hydraulic remote stack, specifically targeting the solenoid for Valve 3, for chafed wires or physical damage.
Disconnect the electrical plug at External Hydraulic Valve 3 and check for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture ingress.
Use a multimeter to verify that the valve solenoid is receiving proper voltage from the ECU when actuated from the cab.
Test the solenoid's internal resistance to ensure it hasn't shorted out or opened.
Ensure the spool valve itself is not mechanically stuck, which can cause the solenoid to draw excessive current and trigger a fault.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, relieve all hydraulic system pressure by cycling the hydraulic levers, and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Clean the Area
Thoroughly clean the area around the rear remote valves to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.
Address Wiring
If the diagnostic checks revealed a corroded connector, clean the pins with contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease. If the harness is damaged, splice and heat-shrink the affected wires.
Replace the Solenoid/Valve
If the solenoid or valve body has failed, disconnect the hydraulic lines (have a catch pan ready for fluid). Unbolt the Valve 3 section from the hydraulic stack.
Install New Part
Mount the replacement valve or solenoid, torque the mounting bolts to OEM spec, and reconnect the hydraulic lines and electrical harness.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool/interface to clear the 0A.32.11 code from the system. Test the remote valve for proper operation.
