Check the cause
Check the UTTO hydraulic fluid level and condition. If the fluid is dark, smells burnt, or looks milky (indicating water contamination), it must be changed.
Inspect the hydraulic filter. A filter that is 70% contaminated will severely restrict oil flow and cause pressure drops at the remote valves. Ensure filters have been changed within the last 250-500 hours.
Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector at External Valve 3 for corrosion, loose pins, or voltage drops.
Perform a pressure test using a hydraulic gauge at the quick couplers for Valve 3. If pressure is below specification (e.g., below 2200 psi), it points to a failing valve, a weak pump, or an internal leak.
Check for external leaks around the valve block, O-rings, and quick couplers, which can rob the system of pressure.
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Turn off the tractor and actuate the hydraulic levers/controls to relieve all residual hydraulic system pressure before starting work.
Disconnect Electronics
Unplug the electrical harness connector from External Hydraulic Valve 3.
Remove Hoses
Mark and disconnect the hydraulic lines/hoses attached to the valve. Cap the lines immediately to prevent dirt from entering the system.
Unbolt the Valve
Remove the mounting hardware securing the valve to the hydraulic manifold or lift cover.
Install New Valve
Mount the replacement valve, ensuring all O-rings and mating surfaces are clean. Torque the mounting bolts to the manufacturer's specification.
Reassembly
Reconnect the hydraulic lines and plug in the electrical connector.
Bleed the System
Top up the hydraulic fluid. Start the tractor and cycle the valve multiple times to bleed air from the system. Air in the system can cause vibrations and spontaneous cylinder action.
