Check the cause
Inspect the electrical connector at External Hydraulic Valve 3 for corrosion, loose pins, or moisture.
Inspect the wiring harness for rub points, frayed wires, or damage along the path to the valve.
Measure the resistance of the valve's solenoid coil to ensure it is not open or shorted to ground.
Ensure the valve circuit has a solid ground connection.
Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the code and operate the tractor to see if the fault is a hard-set failure or an intermittent voltage issue.
Repair steps
Consult service manual
Refer to the specific tractor's service manual (e.g., the MF 6700 S Technician Service Book) to interpret the exact teardown procedure for the hydraulic valve block.
Depressurize system
Depressurize the hydraulic system before beginning the repair.
Disconnect harness
Disconnect the electrical harness from the faulty remote valve.
Remove faulty valve
Unbolt the faulty remote valve section from the hydraulic stack.
Install replacement
Install the replacement external hydraulic valve unit.
