Massey Ferguson A.3X.24 – Basic Control Unit ECU (A050): External Hydraulic Valve 3 Issue

A malfunction, connection problem, or signal fault associated with the third external hydraulic remote (spool valve) on the tractor.

   Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector at External Hydraulic Valve 3 for corrosion, loose pins, or physical damage.

   Check if the linear module/spool is mechanically stuck or binding (the ECU expects it to return to neutral or reach floating position).

   Verify CAN BUS communication between the valve and the Basic Control Unit ECU (A050), looking for potentiometer or PWM signal errors.

   Attempt to clear the DTC using an AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to determine if it is a stored historical code or an active hard fault.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to protect the Basic Control Unit ECU.

   Relieve Pressure

   Actuate the hydraulic levers/buttons to relieve any residual pressure in the external hydraulic lines.

   Locate Valve 3

   Identify the third external hydraulic spool valve on the rear hydraulic block.

   Disconnect Harness

   Unplug the electronic actuator harness from Valve 3.

   Remove the Valve

   Unbolt the faulty spool valve section from the hydraulic stack. Be prepared to catch residual hydraulic fluid.

   Install Replacement

   Mount the new external hydraulic valve using new O-rings/seals to prevent leaks between the valve slices.

   Reconnect and Calibrate

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Power on the tractor and use the AGCO diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.3X.24 code and calibrate the new valve to the Basic Control Unit ECU.
