Check the cause
Verify the hydraulic oil level and ensure the hydraulic filters are not blocked, as dirty oil or low pressure can cause valve actuation issues.
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the #4 external hydraulic valve. Look for rub points, broken wires, or damaged connectors.
Check the electrical connector at the #4 valve for corrosion. Measure the coil resistance of the solenoid to ensure it is not open or shorted.
Check if the spool valve is physically sticking. Rust, debris, or worn O-rings can prevent the spool from moving freely.
Attempt to recalibrate the spool valve using the Datatronic terminal or a compatible diagnostic tool (like Jaltest or AGCO EDT).
Repair steps
Preparation
Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all hydraulic implements to the ground to relieve system pressure, and turn off the engine.
Access the Valve Block
Locate the rear external hydraulic valve stack. Identify the #4 spool valve assembly.
Disconnect Electricals
Carefully unplug the 4-pin electrical connector from the #4 valve solenoid. Clean the connector with contact cleaner.
Remove the Valve
Unbolt the #4 spool valve from the hydraulic block. Be prepared to catch any residual hydraulic fluid.
Inspect and Clean
Inspect the spool for scoring, rust, or debris. If the valve is simply sticking due to debris, a thorough cleaning and replacement of the O-rings may resolve the issue.

Use a diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.40.25 fault code. Perform a spool valve calibration procedure via the Datatronic terminal to ensure the TECU learns the new valve's stroke limits.
