Check the cause

  1. Locate External Hydraulic Valve 4 at the rear remote stack.

  2. Inspect the electrical harness and connector plugging into the valve's solenoid for corrosion, backed-out pins, or wire chafing.

  3. Test the voltage/resistance at the connection to rule out a wiring fault versus a failed valve solenoid.

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize hydraulic system

Depressurize the hydraulic system before beginning the repair.

  2. Disconnect electrical harness

Disconnect the electrical harness from the faulty valve.

  3. Unbolt spool valve

Unbolt the faulty spool valve from the remote stack.

  4. Install replacement unit

Install the replacement spool valve or solenoid unit.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • External Hydraulic Control Valve / Spool Valve Assembly (or Electronic Solenoid for Valve 4)

Exact part number varies heavily depending on tractor series and whether equipped with mechanical or electro-hydraulic remotes. Consult OEM parts catalog for exact VIN/serial number.
