Check the cause
Perform a visual LED inspection on the electronic valve itself (Red indicates power, Green indicates input to move, Flashing indicates a fault)
Check valve position to ensure the external linkage and valves are physically returning to the center (neutral) position
Inspect the wiring harness, pins, and connectors leading to Spool Valve 4 for corrosion, moisture, or open circuits
Check deeper DC/TC error codes via the dash Autotronic diagnostics menu
Repair steps
Isolate the Circuit
Disconnect the battery or power to the hydraulic control module to prevent shorting.
Inspect and Clean Connectors
Disconnect the wiring harness at External Valve 4. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease. Reconnect and test to see if the code clears.
Check Spool Valve Detents
If the valve is mechanically sticking, the detent assembly must be rebuilt or modified (common on 7600 series models).
Replace the Electrohydraulic Valve
If the solenoid or internal position sensor has failed, the valve block section will need to be replaced.
Clear the DTC
After repair, clear the codes using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool or through the tractor's onboard dash interface.
Parts you might need
(3)Electrohydraulic Spool Valve (Section 4)
Generic OEM replacement part; must be matched to the tractor's VIN/serial.
Spool Valve Detent Kit
For 7600 series tractors.
Hydraulic Valve Wiring Harness / Pigtail
Generic replacement if the connector is corroded or melted.
