Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector going to External Hydraulic Valve 4 for corrosion, loose pins, or frayed wires
Inspect the valve body and quick couplers for visible hydraulic fluid leaks, which can cause pressure drops
Check if the valve is sticking or jamming due to debris or internal wear
Check the hydraulic fluid level and condition for contamination such as metal shavings or dust
Repair steps
Retrieve and Verify
Connect a compatible diagnostic tool to the tractor to confirm code 0A.41.20 is active.
Clean Connections
Disconnect the electrical plug at External Hydraulic Valve 4. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, ensure the pins are straight, and securely reconnect the harness.
Address Leaks/Seals
If the valve is leaking externally, replace the O-rings, seals, or quick couplers at the valve block.
Clear Debris/Flush System
If the valve is sticking due to contamination, remove the valve spool, clean it thoroughly, and reinstall. You must also drain the contaminated hydraulic fluid and replace the hydraulic filter to prevent the issue from returning.
Replace the Valve
If the electrical solenoid has failed internally or the valve body is severely worn/jammed, the External Hydraulic Valve 4 assembly must be replaced.
Clear and Test
Use the diagnostic tool to clear the DTC. Start the tractor, allow the hydraulic fluid to warm up, and actuate the 4th remote to ensure the code does not return and the implement responds correctly.
Parts you might need
(4)External Hydraulic Valve Assembly / Solenoid Valve
Must be matched to the specific tractor's VIN/serial number via an AGCO parts catalog
Hydraulic Filter
Replace if fluid contamination caused the valve to stick
Hydraulic Fluid
Universal Tractor Transmission Oil (UTTO)
Valve O-Rings / Seals
Required if the valve block is leaking or being rebuilt
