Massey Ferguson A.41.27 – Hydraulic Control Module / Implement ECU: External Hydraulic Valve 4 Issue

The onboard diagnostic system has detected a malfunction, connection problem, or performance failure specifically related to the fourth remote hydraulic spool valve (External Hydraulic Valve 4). This can manifest as slow, weak, or completely dead remote hydraulics on that specific circuit.

   Inspect the hydraulic oil for contamination (dirty oil) and check the hydraulic/transmission filter for blockages

   Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector specifically at External Hydraulic Valve 4 for corrosion, loose pins, or broken wires

   Check for damaged quick couplers, blocked lines, or worn/cracked rubber hoses that could cause pressure loss or aeration

   Perform a pressure test and flow verification on the remote valve (below 2200 psi indicates lack of power, above 3600 psi can cause overheating and seal damage)

   Verify if the spool valve is physically stuck due to debris or internal wear

   Relieve Pressure

   Ensure the tractor is turned off and relieve all hydraulic system pressure by moving the control levers/buttons before working on the system.

   Electrical Repair

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a wiring issue, repair the harness or replace the damaged connector at Valve 4.

   Filter Replacement

   If the oil is contaminated or the filter is blocked, drain the hydraulic fluid, replace the hydraulic/transmission filter, and refill with clean, manufacturer-specified hydraulic oil.

   Valve Removal

   If the valve itself is faulty, disconnect the hydraulic hoses and electrical connections from External Hydraulic Valve 4. Unbolt the valve assembly from the hydraulic block.

   Clean and Reseal

   Clean the valve chamber. If the valve is sticking, it can sometimes be cleaned and rebuilt with new O-rings and seals.

   Component Replacement

   If the valve has excessive internal wear or a failed internal solenoid, install a new External Hydraulic Valve assembly.

   Reassembly and Testing

   Reconnect all hoses and electrical connectors. Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the A.41.27 / 0A.41.27 fault code. Run the tractor and test the remote valve with an implement to ensure proper flow and pressure.
