Massey Ferguson A.42.2A – Tractor Control Module or Hydraulic Control Module: External Hydraulic Valve 4 Issue

   Visually inspect the 4th external hydraulic valve on the rear remote stack.

   Inspect the electrical connector plugging into the valve's solenoid for dirt, corrosion, or bent pins.

   Check the wiring harness for chafing or breaks.

   Test the resistance of the solenoid on Valve 4 with a multimeter to see if it is shorted or open.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, relieve all hydraulic pressure by cycling the remote levers/buttons, and disconnect the battery.

   Access the Valve

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 4 at the rear remote stack.

   Clean and Repair Connections

   If the diagnostic check revealed a dirty or loose connector, clean it with contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and reseat it securely. Repair any damaged wiring in the harness.

   Replace the Solenoid/Valve

   If the solenoid tests faulty or the valve spool is mechanically binding/failed, remove the retaining bolts and swap in the replacement electric spool slice/valve assembly.

   Reassemble and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool or interface device to clear the DTCs from the system.

   Test

   Start the tractor and operate the 4th hydraulic remote to ensure the code does not return and hydraulic flow is restored.
