Issue description
The onboard diagnostic system has detected a malfunction with the 4th rear auxiliary hydraulic spool valve. This is typically an electrical fault (such as a solenoid failure, wiring short, or connection problem) or an internal mechanical failure within the electrohydraulic valve section preventing it from responding to commands.

Check the cause
Inspect the electrical connector and wiring harness going directly to External Hydraulic Valve 4 for corrosion, bent pins, or wire breaks.
Use a multimeter to test the resistance of the solenoid coil on Valve 4 to ensure it is within OEM specifications.
Temporarily swap the electrical connection from Valve 4 to a known good valve (e.g., Valve 3). If the fault code changes to indicate Valve 3, the issue is in the wiring or module. If the code remains on Valve 4, the valve itself or its solenoid has failed.
Inspect the hydraulic valve block for visible leaks, physical damage, or a blown closing plate.
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Lower all hydraulic implements to the ground and turn off the tractor to relieve all hydraulic pressure in the system.
Clean the Area
Thoroughly clean the area around the external hydraulic valve stack to prevent dirt or debris from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.
Disconnect Electronics
Unplug the electrical harness connector from Valve 4.
Disassemble the Stack
Remove the threaded rods/bolts holding the spool valve stack together. (Note: The length of the threaded rods differs according to the number of spool valves installed).
Remove the Valve
Carefully slide out the Valve 4 section. Be careful not to lose the closing plate or damage the adjacent valves.
Prep for Installation
Clean the seal surfaces on the adjoining spool valves.
Install New Parts
Install the new electrohydraulic spool valve section (or replace the internal seals/solenoid if rebuilding). Ensure all new O-rings and plates are seated correctly.
Reassemble
Reinsert the threaded rods and torque them to the manufacturer's specification.
Finalize
Reconnect the electrical harness. Start the tractor, check for hydraulic leaks, and test the operation of Valve 4. Clear the DTC using a compatible diagnostic tool.
