Check the cause
Inspect the hydraulic fluid (UTTO) for contamination (dirt or metal shavings) and check the hydraulic/transmission filters for blockages that restrict flow.
Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector going to External Valve 4 for corrosion, broken pins, or frayed wires (connection problems).
Check for sticking spools by observing for jerky movements or a dead remote, which indicates physical sticking due to wear or friction.
Inspect the quick couplers on Valve 4 for damage or blockages that could be deadheading the hydraulic pressure.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Turn off the tractor and cycle the hydraulic control levers to relieve all hydraulic pressure before servicing the valve.
Drain Fluid (If Necessary)
If the hydraulic fluid is contaminated, drain the reservoir and prepare to flush the system.
Disconnect Valve 4
Locate External Hydraulic Valve 4 at the rear remote block. Disconnect its electrical harness connector.
Remove the Valve
Unbolt the hydraulic lines, hoses, and mounting hardware securing the valve assembly.
Clean or Replace
If the valve spindle is merely jammed, it can sometimes be disassembled, cleaned, and unstuck. However, if the internal solenoids or seals are failed, install a new replacement hydraulic control valve assembly.
Reassembly
Mount the new valve, reconnect the hydraulic lines, and plug in the electrical connector.
Service Filters and Fluid
Replace the hydraulic filter and refill the system with clean OEM UTTO fluid (e.g., 10W40).
Test
Start the tractor, allow the system to warm up, and test the #4 remote with an implement to ensure proper pressure, flow, and no leaks.
