Massey Ferguson A.4X.1A – Basic Control Unit ECU (A050) or Central Electrical System ECU: External Hydraulic Valve 4 Issue

A malfunction, plausibility error, or connection problem on the 4th auxiliary hydraulic spool valve. The system has detected that the electronic control for this specific hydraulic slice is either not communicating properly, has a wiring fault, or has suffered an internal solenoid/potentiometer failure.

   Use a compatible diagnostic interface (such as the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool) to retrieve the exact alphanumeric code and confirm it is isolated to Valve 4.

   Inspect the 4-pin connector on the Rexroth electric spool valve for Valve 4. Look for corrosion, pushed-out pins, or damaged wiring harnesses leading to the Basic Control Unit ECU.

   Temporarily swap the electrical connection with an adjacent spool valve (e.g., Valve 3) to see if the fault code follows the valve or stays with the wiring harness.

   Depressurize the System

   Ensure the tractor is off and the hydraulic system is fully depressurized before servicing the valve block.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the 4-pin electrical connector from the faulty Valve 4 slice.

   Remove the Valve Slice

   Unbolt the tie rods holding the hydraulic valve stack together and carefully remove the defective electric spool slice.

   Install the New Valve

   Insert the replacement spool slice, ensuring all O-rings and seals are properly seated between the slices. Re-torque the stack tie rods to OEM specifications.

   Reconnect and Program

   Reconnect the 4-pin harness. Crucial Step: The new electric spool slice must be programmed to the tractor's ECU using the AGCO EDT software (EOL programming) before it will function.

   Clear Codes

   Clear the DTCs from the system and test the hydraulic remote for proper operation.
