   Visually inspect the electrical connections to Valve 4 for damage or poor contact

   Position the hydraulic control handle(s) in 'Neutral' to prepare for a Spool Leakage Check

   Connect a hydraulic hand pump (such as test kit N-1100) to one of the control valve ports

   Attempt to pressurize the port to 2500 psi

   If it is not possible to pressurize the port, check for a damaged spool or spool bore, a centering spring failing to return the spool to 'Neutral', or foreign matter/contamination in the valve

   Relieve Pressure

   Ensure the tractor is off and cycle the hydraulic levers to purge air and relieve pressure from the hydraulic system before disconnecting lines.

   Mark Components

   Mark or tag all hoses, parts, and electrical connectors so they will be reinstalled in their proper position.

   Disassemble and Clean

   Remove the Valve 4 assembly. Disassemble, clean, and inspect the valve to ensure that no contamination or foreign matter is causing the spool to stick.

   Reassemble and Retest

   Reassemble the valve and repeat the Spool Leakage Check (pressurizing to 2500 psi).

   Replace if Necessary

   If no pressure can be obtained during the second test, oil is still leaking around the spool due to physical wear, and it will be necessary to replace the entire valve assembly. Note: Do not tamper with factory pre-set valve relief settings.
