Massey Ferguson A.4X.2A: External Hydraulic Valve 4 Issue

Issue description

Indicates a malfunction, connection problem, or failure to operate correctly on the 4th external hydraulic auxiliary/spool valve.

Check the wiring harness and electrical connectors going to the 4th external hydraulic valve for connection problems
Check the hydraulic oil condition and filtration, as dirty oil can cause the spool to stick
Inspect for oil leaks around the valve block
Test for mechanical symptoms such as a weak remote service, sticking lever, or an attached implement creeping/dropping overnight

Turn off the tractor and lower any attached implements to the ground to relieve all hydraulic pressure.
Disconnect the electrical harness connectors from the 4th external hydraulic spool valve.
Disconnect the hydraulic hoses and quick couplers from the valve block.
Unbolt and remove the external hydraulic spool valve assembly from the rear hydraulic block.
If rebuilding: Disassemble the valve on a clean workbench, inspect the spool for heavy scoring, and if the metal is in good condition, replace the spool valve seals, O-rings, detent kit, and return springs using an OEM repair kit.
If replacing: Mount the new hydraulic spool valve assembly to the block.
Reattach all hydraulic lines and electrical connectors.
Refill/top-off the hydraulic fluid, start the tractor, and test the 4th remote service for leaks and proper pressure holding.
