   Perform a visual LED inspection on Valve 5 (solid red indicates power, green indicates movement, flashing confirms a localized fault)

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to Valve 5 for connection problems, open circuits, or shorts to ground, then clean and re-seat the connector

   Verify the spool position by checking the external linkage to ensure the valves are returning to their center position and not sticking on a detent

   Check for secondary DC or TC error codes using the tractor's linkage calculator or Autotronic diagnostic mode to further isolate the electrical fault

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts while working on the hydraulic block.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the rear hydraulic valve stack to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during removal.

   Address the Detents (If Applicable)

   If the valve is mechanically sticking, carefully remove the detent mechanism and replace it with a modified detent kit.

   Replace the Valve

   If the issue is the internal spool position sensor or a burnt-out solenoid, the entire electrohydraulic spool valve assembly must be replaced.

   Removal

   Unbolt Valve 5 from the hydraulic stack. Have a catch pan ready for residual hydraulic fluid.

   Installation

   Install the new electrohydraulic valve, ensuring the O-rings/seals are properly seated. Torque the mounting bolts to the manufacturer's specification.

   Reconnection and Testing

   Reconnect the electrical harness and battery, start the tractor, and test the valve operation via the cab controls. Ensure the LED behaves normally (solid red to green) and the fault code clears. Top up the hydraulic fluid with MF CMS M1143 or CMS M1144 approved oil if necessary.
