Check the cause
Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool or interface device to confirm code 0A.60.1A is active.
Locate External Hydraulic Valve 6 at the rear remote stack and visually inspect the electrical connector and wiring harness for corrosion, loose pins, or physical damage.
Disconnect the harness to Valve 6, clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, and reconnect securely.
Check the tractor's manual for guidance on clearing error codes via the dash or a diagnostic tool.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, relieve all hydraulic pressure by cycling the remote levers/buttons, and disconnect the battery to ensure safety.
Access the Valve Block
Locate the external hydraulic valve stack at the rear of the tractor. Identify the spool corresponding to Valve 6.
Wiring Repair (If Applicable)
If the diagnostic check revealed a damaged harness or connector, splice in a new connector or repair the broken wire.
Valve Replacement
If the wiring is intact but the valve solenoid or spool has failed internally: Disconnect the hydraulic hoses and electrical connections to Valve 6. Unbolt the valve section from the hydraulic stack (be prepared to catch residual hydraulic fluid). Install the replacement external hydraulic valve assembly, ensuring all O-rings and seals are properly seated. Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications.
Reassembly and Testing
Reconnect the hydraulic lines and electrical harness. Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and use a diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.60.1A code. Test the remote valve for proper operation and check for leaks.
