Massey Ferguson A.60.23 – Onboard diagnostic system (Chassis ECU or Implement Control Module): External Hydraulic Valve 6 Issue

   Locate the rear remote hydraulic valve stack and identify Valve 6. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the valve for chafing, breaks, or exposed wires.

   Disconnect the electrical connector at Valve 6. Check for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture ingress, which are common causes for connection problem codes.

   Test the solenoid on Valve 6 for proper resistance and ensure it is receiving the correct voltage from the ECU when actuated.

   Ensure the spool valve itself is not mechanically stuck or binding due to debris in the hydraulic fluid.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts and clear active memory.

   Relieve Pressure

   Relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the system by cycling the hydraulic levers/joystick.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the area around the external hydraulic valve stack to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

   Address Wiring/Connectors

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a corroded connector, clean the pins with contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease. If the wiring is damaged, repair or replace the harness section.

   Replace Solenoid/Valve

   If the solenoid or the spool valve itself has failed, unbolt the faulty Valve 6 section from the hydraulic block. Install the new spool valve assembly or replacement solenoid.

   Reassemble and Test

   Reconnect the hydraulic lines and electrical connectors. Reconnect the battery.

   Clear Codes

   Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool/interface device to clear the A.60.23 (0A.60.23) DTC from the system. Test the remote valve for proper operation.
