   Verify the code using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to confirm the presence of code 0A.61.24.

   Visually inspect the rear hydraulic valve block for physical damage or external hydraulic fluid leaks around Valve 6.

   Disconnect the wiring harness at Spool Valve 6 and inspect for corrosion, moisture, bent pins, or wire chafing (most common cause).

   Swap the electrical connector or the solenoid coil from Valve 6 with a known working valve (e.g., Valve 5) to isolate the issue. If the fault follows the valve, the solenoid/slice is faulty; if it remains A.61.24, the issue is in the wiring harness or ECU.

   Relieve Pressure

   Lower all implements to the ground, turn off the tractor, and actuate the hydraulic levers/controls to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the system.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the external hydraulic valve block to prevent dirt and debris from contaminating the hydraulic system during disassembly.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical harness connector from Spool Valve 6.

   Remove Lines

   Mark and disconnect the hydraulic hoses/lines attached to the affected valve. Cap the lines to prevent fluid loss.

   Remove the Valve

   Unbolt the specific electric spool slice (Valve 6) from the hydraulic valve stack.

   Replace or Rebuild

   Depending on the diagnosis, either install a new electric spool slice or rebuild the existing valve using an OEM repair kit (replacing the seals and faulty solenoid).

   Reassembly

   Bolt the new/repaired valve back into the stack, torqueing the tie-bolts to OEM specifications. Reconnect the hydraulic lines and the electrical connector.

   Fluid & Bleed

   Check the tractor's hydraulic fluid level and top off if necessary. Start the tractor and operate the valve to bleed air from the system. Check for leaks.

9. 9

   Calibration/Clearing

   Use a diagnostic tool to clear the A.61.24 DTC. Note: If a completely new electric spool slice is installed, it may need to be programmed/calibrated to the tractor's ECU using dealer software.
