Check the cause
Check the wiring harness and electrical connector at External Valve 6 for corrosion, broken wires, or loose connections
Check the hydraulic fluid level and inspect for contamination (dirty oil)
Inspect the hydraulic and transmission filters for blockages
Inspect the valve body for external leaks, damaged seals, or loose fittings
Check the hydraulic couplers and hoses for damage or blockages
Determine if the spool valve is physically sticking due to internal wear or debris
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Turn off the tractor and actuate the hydraulic controls to relieve all pressure from the hydraulic system.
Clean the Area
Thoroughly clean the area around the rear remote valve stack to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical harness connector from External Valve 6. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses and lines attached to the valve.
Remove Valve
Unbolt the faulty hydraulic valve from the valve stack or base plate.
Repair or Replace
If minor leaking is the issue, the valve can sometimes be rebuilt with new O-rings and seals. If the internal spool is worn, the solenoid is dead, or the valve body is damaged, replace the entire valve assembly.
Reinstall
Mount the new or rebuilt valve to the base plate/stack. Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications.
Reconnect
Reattach the hydraulic lines and plug in the electrical harness.
Test and Bleed
Top off the hydraulic fluid to the correct level. Start the tractor and operate the hydraulic remote to bleed air from the system. Check for leaks.
Clear Codes
Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the A.61.26 / 0A.61.26 DTC from the system.
