   Implement & Hose Test: Test the remote with another implement or hose set. A faulty ram, hose, or coupler on the implement can mimic a tractor spool problem.

   Visual & Mechanical Inspection: Inspect the couplers for damage, dirt, poor fit, and pressure locking. Check that the spool lever/electronic fingertip control moves fully and returns to neutral without sticking.

   Electrical Connection Check: Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector plugging into External Valve 6 for corrosion, bent pins, or wire chafing.

   Fluid & Filter Check: Check the hydraulic oil level and condition (look for milky oil indicating water contamination, burnt smells, or metal particles). A blocked hydraulic filter can cause pressure drops that trigger valve faults.

   Pressure & Flow Testing: If basic checks pass, carry out a pressure test at the remote to determine if the issue is a pump failure, a relief valve issue, or an internal spool valve leak.

   Safety First

   Park the tractor on level ground, lower all implements, turn off the engine, and safely relieve all hydraulic pressure in the system by cycling the remote levers/buttons.

   Access the Valve Block

   Locate the rear external hydraulic valve block. Identify Valve 6 (usually the outermost or specifically numbered slice in the valve stack).

   Address Electrical Faults

   If the diagnostic check revealed a wiring issue, clean the connector with contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and repair any broken wires in the harness.

   Service the Spool Valve Detents

   Remove the detent cover, clean out any rust or debris, replace the seals, and lubricate the mechanism.

   Replace the Valve Slice

   If the valve is internally scored or the solenoid has failed, the valve slice must be replaced. Disconnect the hydraulic lines and electrical connector to Valve 6. Unbolt the tie-rods holding the valve stack together. Remove the faulty valve slice and insert the new one, ensuring all O-rings between the slices are replaced and seated correctly. Torque the tie-rods to OEM specifications.

   Reassembly & Testing

   Reconnect all hoses and electrical connections. Replace the hydraulic filter and top up the hydraulic fluid. Start the tractor, clear the fault codes using a compatible diagnostic tool, and test the remote for proper operation and leaks.
