Massey Ferguson A.62.19 – Onboard diagnostic system (Vehicle Control Unit or Hydraulic Control Module): External Hydraulic Valve 6 Issue

   Verify hydraulic fluid levels and inspect the fluid for contamination or debris, which can cause spool valves to stick

   Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector going to the solenoid of external hydraulic valve 6 for corrosion, broken wires, or loose pins

   Use a multimeter to test the valve's solenoid for proper resistance and continuity

   Inspect the valve body for external leaks, physical damage, or blown O-rings

   Determine if the spool is sticking mechanically (if the electrical side is functioning but the valve throws a code when actuated)

   Preparation

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all implements to the ground, and turn off the engine.

   Relieve Pressure

   Relieve all hydraulic system pressure by cycling the hydraulic controls/levers.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate external hydraulic valve 6 in the rear remote valve stack.

   Disconnect Electricals

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the affected valve's solenoid.

   Disconnect Hydraulics

   Disconnect the hydraulic hoses/lines from the valve. Use caps or plugs immediately to prevent fluid loss and keep dirt out of the system.

   Remove the Valve

   Unbolt the specific valve section from the hydraulic manifold/stack.

   Rebuild or Replace

   If rebuilding: Disassemble the valve on a clean workbench. Replace all O-rings and seals using an OEM spool valve repair kit. Ensure the spool moves freely without binding. If replacing: Prepare the new valve assembly for installation.

   Reinstallation

   Bolt the new or rebuilt valve back into the stack, torqueing the mounting bolts to manufacturer specifications.

   Reconnect

   Reconnect the hydraulic lines and the electrical connector.

    Test

    Top off the hydraulic fluid. Start the tractor, check for leaks, and test the operation of remote valve 6.

    Clear Codes

    Clear the DTC 0A.62.19 using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool.
