Issue description
Triggered when the tractor's onboard diagnostic system detects a problem with the 6th external hydraulic remote valve. The underlying condition is typically an electrical fault (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power in the valve's solenoid circuit), a missing signal, or a mechanical issue where the valve spool is sticking/jamming and not responding to the controller's commanded position.

Check the cause
Check the rear hydraulic remote stack for visible fluid leaks around Valve 6, which can indicate blown O-rings or a cracked housing.
Inspect the electrical connector at Valve 6 for harness rub points, corrosion, bent pins, or loose wires.
Use a multimeter to check the resistance of the Valve 6 solenoid coil and verify ground integrity.
Swap the solenoid coil from Valve 6 with a known good valve (e.g., Valve 5). If the fault code changes to the other valve, the solenoid is the culprit. If the code remains on Valve 6, the issue is in the wiring harness or the mechanical valve spool itself.
Navigate to the hydraulics page on the Datatronic 5 display to ensure the valve flows and names are configured correctly and that the valve hasn't been electronically locked out.
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Lower all implements to the ground, turn off the tractor, and cycle the hydraulic levers/controls to relieve all residual hydraulic pressure.
Clean the Area
Thoroughly clean the rear valve block area around Valve 6 to prevent dirt and debris from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.
Disconnect Wiring
Unplug the electrical harness connector from the Valve 6 solenoid.
Remove the Valve
Remove the retaining bolts securing the Valve 6 section to the hydraulic base plate or valve stack.
Inspect and Replace
Remove the valve. If replacing the entire valve, ensure the new O-rings are properly seated on the mating surface. If only replacing the solenoid, unbolt the solenoid from the valve body and install the new one.
Reassembly
Bolt the new valve or solenoid into place. Torque the retaining bolts to the manufacturer's specifications (refer to the specific model's service manual for exact torque values).
Reconnect and Test
Reconnect the electrical harness. Start the tractor, unlock the valves via the dashboard control unit, and operate Valve 6 to bleed any air from the system. Check for leaks.
Clear Codes
Delete the error code from the control unit dashboard.
