Check the cause

  1. Inspect the 4-pin electrical connector at the External Hydraulic Valve 6 for corrosion, loose pins, or wire harness damage.

  2. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic interface to read live data from the valve to verify if it is receiving voltage.

  3. Attempt to clear the DTC to determine if it is a hard fault or an intermittent connection issue.

  4. Consult the specific tractor's service manual to interpret exact voltage parameters and test the pilot pressure control for the electric spool valve.

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

Ensure the tractor is off and all hydraulic pressure is relieved from the external hydraulic circuits.

  2. Locate Valve 6

Identify the 6th external hydraulic spool valve slice on the rear valve block assembly.

  3. Disconnect Electronics

Unplug the 4-pin electrical connector from the Rexroth electric spool valve.

  4. Remove the Valve Slice

Unbolt the specific spool valve slice from the hydraulic stack.

  5. Repair or Replace

If the valve is leaking or has internal seal failure, rebuild it using an OEM Spool Valve Repair Kit. If the electric solenoid/potentiometer has failed, replace the entire Electric Spool Slice unit.

  6. Reassemble and Clear Codes

Bolt the new/repaired valve back into the stack, reconnect the 4-pin connector, and use the diagnostic tool to clear code 0A.60.1E.
