Massey Ferguson A.6X.24 – Autotronic transmission/hydraulic controller or Armrest/Implement controller: External Hydraulic Valve 6 Issue

The tractor's onboard diagnostic system has detected a malfunction in the control circuit, solenoid, or physical operation of the 6th external hydraulic remote (spool valve).

   Verify that the transmission/hydraulic fluid is at the correct level and is not contaminated.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to the rear hydraulic valve stack (specifically Valve 6) for chafing, rodent damage, or loose connections.

   Disconnect the electrical plug at the Valve 6 solenoid and look for corrosion, moisture, or bent pins.

   Check the corresponding spool valve switch/joystick on the armrest or the fender switch to ensure it is sending the correct signal and isn't physically stuck.

   Check the main and secondary fuse boxes for any blown fuses related to the hydraulic controllers or implement circuits.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Relieve Pressure

   Relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system by moving the hydraulic controls back and forth before working on the valve stack.

   Clean Connections

   If the diagnostic check revealed dirty or corroded connectors at the Valve 6 solenoid, clean them thoroughly with electrical contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease. Reconnect and test.

   Replace Solenoid/Valve

   If the wiring is intact but the valve fails to actuate (or the solenoid coil tests open/shorted with a multimeter), the solenoid or the specific spool valve slice must be replaced. Unbolt the affected valve section from the hydraulic block, taking care to catch any leaking fluid.

   Install New Parts

   Install the new valve/solenoid using new O-rings to prevent leaks. Torque the hydraulic unions and retaining screws to the manufacturer's specifications.

   Fluid Top-Up

   Top off the hydraulic fluid using approved Massey Ferguson transmission/hydraulic fluid.

7. 7

   Calibration

   Reconnect the battery. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs and, if a new valve was installed, perform a spool valve calibration routine so the Autotronic/Armrest controller learns the new valve's reference curves.
