Massey Ferguson A.70.19 – Implement/hydraulic control module or main vehicle ECU: External Hydraulic Valve 7 Issue
Issue description
Fault, connection problem, or malfunction specifically related to the 7th external hydraulic remote valve on the tractor. This can be triggered by an electrical circuit issue (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power at the solenoid) or a mechanical issue where the valve fails to return to its neutral position.

Check the cause
Check the solenoid connector on External Valve 7 for dirt, corrosion, or moisture
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the valve for rub points, breaks, or shorts to ground
Test the solenoid coil resistance with a multimeter and verify ground integrity
Check if the main hydraulic distributor is mechanically stuck and failing to return to the neutral position
Stop and restart the engine to see if the system resets (note: valve may remain electronically blocked until cleared with a tool)
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Ensure the tractor is turned off and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before servicing the valves.
Access the Valve Block
Locate the rear external hydraulic valve block. Identify Valve 7 (you can verify valve naming and assignments via the Datatronic 5 screen if equipped).
Repair Wiring/Solenoid
If the diagnostic checks revealed a wiring fault, repair the damaged harness. If the solenoid coil failed the resistance test, remove the retaining nut and replace the solenoid coil.
Valve Spool Service
If the valve is mechanically stuck or leaking internally, remove the valve assembly. Clean the spool and inspect for scoring. Replace the internal O-rings and seals using an OEM repair kit.
Reassembly
Reinstall the valve vertically, ensuring thickness shims and O-rings are seated correctly so the tightening load is distributed evenly.
Clear Codes
Reconnect the wiring, start the tractor, and use a Massey Ferguson-compatible diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.70.19 code from the dashboard control unit to unlock the valve.
