   Attempt to clear the DTC using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to see if the code is an active hard fault or a stored intermittent issue

   Depressurize the System

   Turn off the tractor, lower all implements to the ground, and cycle the hydraulic controls to relieve all residual hydraulic pressure.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts and ensure the onboard diagnostic system is powered down.

   Locate Valve 7

   Locate the external hydraulic valve block (often assembled directly onto the lift cover or rear remote stack). Identify Valve 7.

   Disconnect Lines and Wiring

   Unplug the electrical solenoid connector for Valve 7. Mark and disconnect the hydraulic hoses/fittings (typically 3/8" BSP or ORB threads depending on the model).

   Remove the Valve

   Unbolt the valve section from the monoblock or mounting bracket.

   Install New Valve/Spool

   Install the replacement spool valve or insert a new hardened alloy steel control spool (e.g., AGCO SN1315-7) into the valve body. Ensure O-rings and gaskets are properly seated.

   Reassembly

   Bolt the valve back into the stack, reconnect the hydraulic lines, and plug in the electrical connector.

   Test and Clear

   Reconnect the battery, top off the hydraulic fluid, start the tractor, and check for leaks. Use a diagnostic tool to clear code A.72.12 / 0A.72.12 and verify it does not return.
