Check the cause

  1. Capture the Full Story: Record exactly when the code appears (e.g., cold start, after warm-up, under load, or when hydraulics are active) before clearing any codes.

  2. Electrical & Power Checks: Check battery voltage under load and charging output. Low voltage can trigger EHR (electronic hitch/remote) position faults.

  3. Wiring & Connections: Inspect the solenoid connector and EHR connector pins for corrosion or damage. Check the wiring harness for rub points or shorts to ground.

  4. Component Testing: Test the coil resistance and ground integrity of the valve solenoid.

  5. Hydraulic System: Check hydraulic fluid levels and inspect the hydraulic filter for clogs, as low fluid or restricted flow can cause hydraulic faults.

Repair steps

  1. Stabilize Power

Ensure the electrical power is stabilized and confirm the complaint.

  2. Harness Repair

Inspect the wiring and connectors leading to External Hydraulic Valve 7. Repair any harness rub points or damaged connector pins.

  3. Isolate the Valve

If the electrical circuit (solenoid coil resistance, ground) tests fine but the valve fails to operate, the electric spool slice or solenoid is likely internally faulty.

  4. Relieve Pressure

Relieve all hydraulic system pressure before servicing the valve block.

  5. Remove and Replace

Remove the faulty electric spool slice / valve assembly and install the replacement unit or rebuild it using an OEM repair kit.

  6. Programming / Calibration

If replacing the entire Electric Spool Slice unit, the new module needs to be programmed to the tractor using a diagnostic tool (such as Jaltest or AGCO diagnostic software) to calibrate the component for correct operation.

  7. Fluid Maintenance

Top up the hydraulic fluid and replace the hydraulic filter if necessary.

  8. Clear Codes

Clear the DTCs using a compatible diagnostic tool and test the hydraulic remote under load.
