Issue description
The tractor's onboard diagnostic system has detected a malfunction, connection problem, or operational failure in the 8th external hydraulic remote valve (spool valve). This is typically an electronic fault (such as a voltage issue to the valve's solenoid, a severed connection, or a sticking electronic spool) that prevents the valve from regulating the flow and direction of hydraulic fluid to the connected implement.

Check the cause
Check the monitor settings on the Datatronic 5 (or equivalent) to ensure Valve 8 is not electronically locked out (the hydraulic lock button should be lit green)
Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector at the Valve 8 solenoid on the rear remote stack for corrosion, loose pins, or severed wires
Verify hydraulic fluid level and condition, ensuring OEM UTTO is used and not contaminated. Check for clogged hydraulic filters
Perform a component swap test by swapping the electrical connector from Valve 8 to a known good valve (e.g., Valve 7) to isolate if the fault is in the valve/solenoid or the wiring/ECU
Visually inspect for significant external leaks around the valve block, seals, and couplers
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Turn off the tractor. If equipped with a Datatronic monitor, ensure the hydraulics are unlocked to relieve system pressure. Cycle the hydraulic controls to bleed off any residual pressure.
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts while working on the valve solenoids.
Clean the Area
Thoroughly clean the rear remote valve stack around Valve 8 to prevent dirt and debris from entering the hydraulic system.
Disconnect Lines and Harness
Unplug the electrical harness connector from the Valve 8 solenoid. Unbolt the hydraulic hoses/lines connected to the valve, capping them immediately to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
Remove the Valve
Remove the mounting bolts securing the Valve 8 slice to the main hydraulic valve block/stack. Carefully pull the valve away.
Repair or Replace
If the valve is leaking or sticking due to worn internal O-rings/seals, rebuild it using an OEM seal kit. If the solenoid has failed or the valve is beyond repair, replace the entire directional control valve slice.
Reinstallation
Install the new or repaired valve onto the stack. Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications. Reconnect the hydraulic lines and the electrical harness.
System Bleed and Test
Reconnect the battery. Top up the hydraulic fluid with UTTO as needed. Start the tractor, use the monitor to unlock the hydraulics, and test the flow and direction of Valve 8. Check for leaks and clear the DTC.

Hydraulic Fluid
