A.80.1F

Massey Ferguson A.80.1F: External Hydraulic Valve 8 Issue

Issue description

Malfunction associated with the 8th external auxiliary hydraulic remote valve (spool valve). This typically points to an electrical fault (such as a voltage issue to the valve's solenoid), a communication failure, or a mechanical failure preventing the valve from operating correctly.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the hydraulic fluid level is correct and inspect the hydraulic filter for clogs, which can cause a loss of hydraulic power.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector leading to External Hydraulic Valve 8 for corrosion, damaged pins, or frayed wires.

  3. Inspect the hydraulic pump and check the relief valve settings to ensure the system is receiving adequate pressure.

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure & Drain

Relieve all hydraulic system pressure. If necessary, pump out the hydraulic reservoir fluid through the valve. Note: Have a large bucket ready, as draining the hydraulic fluid can be very messy.

  2. Disconnect Electricals

Unplug the electrical wiring harness connected to the Valve 8 solenoid.

  3. Remove the Valve

Unbolt the external hydraulic valve from the rear remote valve stack/manifold.

  4. Clean and Prep

Clean the mounting surface on the manifold to ensure no debris enters the hydraulic system.

  5. Install New Valve

Mount the replacement external hydraulic valve, ensuring all O-rings and seals are properly seated.

  6. Reassembly

Reconnect the electrical harness, refill the hydraulic fluid to the specified capacity, and bleed the system if required.

  7. Clear Codes

Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool or interface device to clear the 0A.82.2x DTCs from the system.

Parts you might need

(3)
  • External Auxiliary Hydraulic Control Valve (or Spool Valve)

Specific OEM part numbers vary heavily depending on the exact tractor model and valve stack configuration. Use genuine Massey Ferguson replacement valves and seals.
